The Rising Cost of Journals

The rising cost of journals. Four percent of the 2011 2012 budget went for books. Ninety six percent went toward serials such as journals. The most expensive journal that the U of L Libraries subscribed to in 2012 was the Journal of Comparative Neurology. That year's 18 issues cost $28,924.24. Based on 5,102 journals the average increase in price from 2008 to 2012 was 20.67 percent.
